‌< Dark Passage > is meditative installaion work to commemorate the memory of the victims of the Sewol ferry disaster. A minimal black structure with a modernist style is located above a black square lake. The black structure forms a striking contrast with the white cube exhibition space. Awooden floor is installed between the exhibition space and the black structure, and viewers pass along a narrow and seemingly unstable passageway to view the installation. Wobbles in the structure create ripples on the water as viewers pass through without the use of additional device. These ripples break up the reflection of the structure on the black lake, creating a meditative atmosphere. By stimulating all of the senses such as sight, touch and smell, < Dark Passage > provides a spiritual experience for views.
